Many of you may have seen AAAA or AAAA+++ ratings for pearls. In fact, thats all just duping you to get more money.
There are mainly 3 ratings given to pearls – which is accepted by most reputable pearl dealers across the world, you can say industry standard (including Pure Pearls). And we do not entertain or use other grades. (There is no industry standard ratings set so far, so we go with what many world wide dealers accept and follow).

A – 25% blemish free / spot free, which lowest quality nacre on the pearl and low luster. This is the lowest quality. Sorry, we do NOT carry such pearls under any circumstances.

AA – The surface will have good luster and and 75% of the pearl will be free from blemishes and spots.

AAA – The surface will have high luster and 95% of the pearl will be free from spots or blemishes. This and AA pearl will have good nacre. (Nacre is the pearl layers formed in the oyster ).

Please be informed that when we talk about shape, we have different shapes of pearls such as round, oval, potato, flat, one side flat, seed, rice, coin etc., These ratings apply for each of these varieties of pearls except some like biwa/baroque. However, a round pearl will always be more expensive than a potato one or half round pearl.
