About the metal part of the necklace:

The metal wire / taar that is used in making / knitting the pearls is made in copper.  Once knitted, the necklace set is given for gold colour polishing. (Not regular electro plating).

Good quality plating which will last for decently longer period. Avoid sweat / water / perfumes on the necklace in order to retain it in as is condition.
