Choker
A necklace that sits high and close around the neck. Both a length and, in Indian jewellery, a distinct style.
As a length, a choker measures roughly 14 to 16 inches. As a style, it is a broad, often multi-row band worn tight at the throat.
In bridal sets the choker is the upper piece, worn with a longer haram or rani haar beneath it to build a layered front.
Pearl chokers are usually multi-line with spacer bars, since a single strand at choker length looks sparse against the neck.
When you are buying
A choker has the least tolerance for fit of any necklace. Measure the neck, add an inch, and prefer an adjustable extension.
