Bangle

Jewellery StylesAlso called bangles, kada, kangan

A rigid closed circle worn on the wrist, sized by internal diameter rather than length.

Unlike a bracelet, a bangle has no clasp, so it must pass over the widest part of the hand while still sitting on the wrist.

Indian bangle sizing runs in numbered increments, commonly 2x4 through 2x10, referring to internal diameter.

Pearl bangles are usually pearls strung on a rigid frame or set into a metal band, since pearls alone cannot hold a circle.

When you are buying

Size by squeezing your hand as small as it will go and measuring across the widest point. A bangle that fits the wrist but not the hand is unusable.
