Pure Pearls Glossary
Bracelet Length
Usually 7 to 8 inches. Should be about half an inch longer than the wrist so the piece moves rather than grips.
Measure the wrist snugly, then add half an inch for a close fit or a full inch for a relaxed drape.
Pearl bracelets need a little more slack than metal ones. Pearls sit on the skin and a tight strand rubs against nacre all day.
7 inches is the common women's size, 7.5 to 8 inches the usual larger fit.
When you are buying
Err longer with pearls. A tight pearl bracelet abrades the nacre where it rests on the wrist bone, and that damage cannot be undone.
